While the world is creeping closer toward a DefCon 1 exchange with every passing day, should Russia launch tomorrow there will be no way of knowing just how many warheads and ICBMs Putin is letting loose (not that he needs all that many). The reason is because on Monday, Russia informed the US that it is temporarily suspending American inspections of its nuclear weapons sites under the 2010 Treaty on Measures for the Further Reduction and Limitation of Strategic Offensive Arms (New START).
"On August 8, 2022, the Russian Federation officially informed the United States via diplomatic channels that our country is temporarily exempting its facilities from inspection activities under the New START Treaty," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement, adding it also covers "facilities that can be used for demonstrations under the treaty.”
According to Anadolu, the statement stressed that the measures had a "temporary character" but everyone knows there is nothing more permanent in this world than a "temporary" government mandate.

The big elephant in the room not mentioned...likely flings open the door for Vlad to start expanding missile inventory...
I'd mention it would be wise to follow suit, but corrupt destructive government doing what it can to destroy from within that others previously had no shot at doing from without...I guess all we can do is point fingers and say they did it first and everybody will feel better about being dead...

I recall the US withdrew from several weapons treaties, including a couple under Trump. All sad IMO.

Someone gave Russia's reason for temporarily withdrawing from the treaty.
US sanctions forbid Russian planes from entering US. They cannot inspect anything if they cannot gain entry.
BTW just because Russia gives this as the reason does not mean it is the real reason.
Can you fly from Moscow to NYC? I dunno.

Diplomatically, yes...they can.

Diplomatically, yes...they can.
So Russian govt planes can enter US airspace if carrying diplomats?
I guess the diplomats have to get to the US somehow.
I believe there are commercial routes to US from Moscow via Iran or maybe Cyprus or other countries.

I know Turkey operates in Russia a lot...other than that, have to do a search of flight trackers for Russian transponders, see where they are...

Well, sure...if you think you need to use them...

...you're not going to lose them.
Bullish for global annihilation.
