Holograms could explain a lot of the wilder crap "people" capture and post online...there are obvious hoaxes easily debunked...but a high-quality hologram could look convincing...

And it could not be done in scale without serious money behind it, only only BigBiz & BigGov can filch and divert that kind of money...
