Sure, all they have to do is trigger of Alpha-Gal Syndrome (AGS) like what happens when someone is bit by a Lone Star Tick...their saliva contains a carbohydrate called galactose-a-1,3-galactose (alpha-gal)...alpha-gal is not present in humans and though people react differently, when exposed to alpha-gal the body produces a reaction to the perceived contagion and an allergic reaction from mild to severe (anaphylactic shock) can occur...and meat allergy is a common symptom...
I reckon we all need to get Epi-pens stocked...

My niece had something like that happen to her, maybe after pregnancy.
She could not eat (digest?) beef, then chicken, then even fish.

AGS only reacts with red meat, so she must have had a broader allergic reaction... Pregnancy does stuff to body chemistry for gals...suspect that may have gone away for her after a while...
