Title: Hurricane Francine
Post by: Libertas on September 12, 2024, 01:39:30 PM
Not to make lite of the suffering and hardship...but ahh, when isn't New Orleans and surrounding low-lying areas not in distress during any storm?

https://www.toddstarnes.com/weather/emergency-water-rescues-underway-across-new-orleans-250k-without-power/ (https://www.toddstarnes.com/weather/emergency-water-rescues-underway-across-new-orleans-250k-without-power/)

And yet people are always seen doing stupid stuff and treating the storms lightly...   :o

There would be less rescues...if people were not stupid.

The clips speak for themselves...that last one...a lithium loaded vehicle...in a habitual flood zone...

As Bill Engvall would say..."Here's your sign!"

 ::facepalm::

I recall years ago there was a proposal to pay every resident of New Orleans (or parts of it?) $40K to leave rather than rebuild.
Not enough graft possible so it was killed.
