There is a reason that Ted Baxter and Ron Burgundy are broadcast news cliches. Watch the video at this FNC link (http://video.foxnews.com/v/1098183541001/chinese-daredevil-nearly-falls-to-death) and notice (it's impossible not to see it) that the tightrope walker was never in any danger due to the tether line which is clearly attached.
The only thing that I am thinking when I see stuff like this is, "Do the anchors see this too and what are they thinking about what is on the teleprompter? Or are they really this stupid? And do they think their audience is this stupid, too?"
The anchor babe isn't even amazed that guy makes another balancing pole magically appear out of nowhere to finish the walk.
Obviously edited video. Obviously tethered stunt guy was never in any danger. Total morons commenting on this completely routine circus stunt.

Hehe. Cool stunt, lame "news".
As an aside, if I was suspended between two hot air balloons several hundred feet in the air, I think I would much rather have a tether than a net.
-
If that guy hadn't been tethered and had had the same slip resulting in his hanging on for dear life then the resulting youtube video where urine is clearly seen running out of his pants would have been more newsworthy.
One more thing: The stunt creators assume that most people are ignorant of the fact that balloons don't move much relative to each other when they are that close. The wind for one is about the same as the other. Plus hot air balloons are a "morning thing" when the wind is almost always minimal.

They blow stinkies everyday. The crawler cannot spell either. The world benefits from modern education.
Murdoch is going for the gold or better said he's going for the big 3's audience.

Seems more like it everyday.

I've noticed teh crawler and wonder how that is? Don't they have an editor for that?
ANd they often have the wrong clip w/ the wrong headline or caption, incorrect graphics. I'm always surprised, but since I don't watch any other tv news, and Fox less and less, I don't know if it's not uncommon.
I saw teh teaser for teh clip and teh tether and wondered what the fuss was about. He's safer there than doing it on a railing, say. Fall from that and you could hit your head or turn your ankle or something.

Jayzus. Over this they're horrified? Try watching the financial/economic news.
Bread and circuses.

"Try watching the financial/economic news."
Now that's scary!
