The U.N.'s World Food Program for the first time acknowledged it has been investigating food theft in Somalia for two months. The WFP said that the "scale and intensity" of the famine crisis does not allow for a suspension of assistance, saying that doing so would lead to "many unnecessary deaths."
O rly. Whose "unnecessary deaths"?
Read the rest of the piece and see an example in circular reasoning coupled with the futility of doing anything short of breaking things and killing people.

Figures, an AP article...
Somalia is a freaking hell hole every way you look at it! Ruled by warlords who exploit the hell out of their own, pirates, terrorists...and the peasants are exploited and left to get the crumbs of aid that winds up in thug hands or they die of starvation and disease.
It is a basket case nation in name only that should be quarantined and banned from interacting with civilized societies.

If you stop the food the only people you starve are the thieves because the people that need it are starving anyway.

Precisely. However, any "unnecessary deaths" must be avoided, thus the aid continues.

They could avoid "unnecessary deaths" by causing a few "necessary deaths". But, the schizophrenic dogma of liberals cannot countenance the thought.

Who the hell are they kidding?? They're part of the thieving bastards profiting from the food. Nobody's forgotten food for oil.

There are some places on earth that deserve to be nothing more than parking lots.

Sending in more Ugandan peacekeepers...
