"An important disconnect over the discussion of the future of the European Union exists, one that divides into three parts. First, there is the question of whether the various plans put forward in Europe plausibly could result in success given the premises they are based on. Second, there is the question of whether the premises are realistic. And third, assuming they are realistic and the plans are in fact implemented, there is the question of whether they can save the European Union as it currently exists.
The plans all are financial solutions to a particular set of financial problems. But regardless of whether they are realistic in addressing the financial problem, the question of whether the financial issue really addresses the fundamental dilemma of Europe — which is political and geopolitical — remains."

Europe sits like the fatted Calf, waiting for slaughter. Will it be a combination of Islamic Extremists, with a dash of spoiled Euro-trash, fed up with the Governments lack of ability to wet nurse? Either way, Russia and China sit poised to take what is left!

Yes, need to keep our nose out of it. Europe has done nothing but hurt the US. We have sacrificed enough of our Sons and Daughters for them and for what? Communism, Liberalism and Islofacism. Without Europe dragging us down, we would have even been greater.

It's hard to blame countries like Germany which are loathe to pump money into do-nothing Socialist ( read Communist ) countries like Greece and Italy . I thought the E.U. looked like a " House of Cards " when it was first formed and wondered how long it would take for the Socialists ( read Communists ) to suck the financial life out of it . In fact the E.U. is beginning to look as viable politically and financially as the old Warsaw Pact .

If I blame Germany for anything it is for thinking this would work in the first place...I thought the painful financial lesson of absorbing their eastern bretheren after the fall of the wall would have taught them that...but politics, wanting a bigger counter-weight to US influence and ego all got the better of the once practical Germans!
