Supercommittee failure could trigger US credit downgrade, economists warn.
And as has been all over the news the last week, the 'supercommittee' is all but dead right now.
-
This is the same supercommittee that wants to raise
taxes and increase the debt limit a bazillion dollars?
-
The very same, yup.
-
It could be that the credit rating agencies are looking to 'goose' the republicans into flinching and giving the democrats what they want. It was a tactic used by them (the credit agencies) during the debt ceiling standoff so I don't see why they wouldn't do it here as well.

Levin spoke harsher words of Boehner tonight.

Boehner deserves all the harshness Levin heaps on his weepy head. Too bad only four Republicans voted against the Balanced Budget Amendment because, while IT DOES NOTHING TO RESTRICT SPENDING, it guarantees massive tax increases to cover the outlays.
God DAMN these people.

God DAMN these people.
The RINO's in particular. ::rockets::

The Great Purge is long overdue...
The Stupid party will never do any of it. Rove and the elites keep telling us that a RINO is better for the party than a DemonRat because the additional R will give control to the R's but fails miserably when you watch the RINO side with the other side for the fear of being tossed out the next cycle. RINO's are cowards in that they'll do whatever they can to preserve themselves while allowing the country to simply slide into the depths of hell.

Gary Bauer has an XM Radio show on Sunday mornings, with Tom Rose. This morning Bauer spewed a positively vitriolic diatribe, voiced raised (and I bet his face was red) against those who criticized Boehner's "capitulation" in the passing of this legislation, claiming Boehner's doing the best of everything he can do in the face of Democrat intransigence. His defense of Boehner included a scoffing at "armchair quarterbacks" who are not in Boehner's hotseat in DC.
Bauer lashed out, too, at those who are aggravated by the TEA Party candidates apparent co-option, saying if they'd refused to vote "yea" on the amendment, the media would be crowing about how Republicans are divided.
Tom Rose kept his calm; I don't know how he did so in the face of Bauer's screaming contempt, because I didn't. Bauer just jumped the RINO shark, in my opinion.

::facepalm::
He wants us to feel sorry for Boehner?
Stuff that!

Not so much sorry, just we should shut up and stop btching because we haven't been sold down the river.
I disagree.

Jeez, that's worse I think...we have to wait to be sold?! Done that! Remember, the Repub's caved on the debt ceiling vote and gave the Dem's this superfailure cover!

Fantasy Land, that's where Gary's been living.
He lived in such a nice neighborhood, too bad
he moved.

Breaking: Super Committee declares defeat; Update: No downgrade, says S&P; Update: Obama threatens veto if Congress rescinds automatic cuts
So a couple days ago the rating agencies are grumbling about having to downgrade the US credit rating prior to the 'super committee' making their decision, you know, so they would have that added pressure to 'do something' and now, after the deadline has come and gone...and nothing has been done, all of a sudden the rating agencies are saying, 'Oh, false alarm everyone...no downgrade after all!'.
So why is it that they bothered to make the pronouncement that a downgrade was likely if the committee failed before, and now it's all good?
Well, call me a conspiracy theorist or whatever, but I'm pretty sure I know why...
-
It's not a conspiracy, it's just that they're all in cahoots.
