Title: Israel keeps building Dolphins

The objective of deploying nukes on subs is to further enhance deterrence to any nation launching a nuclear strike against Israel. If one of the Dolphins is always at sea, even a first strike against Israel would not prevent a nuclear strike by submarine launched nukes.

The three older boats have since been upgraded to include larger fuel capacity, converting more torpedo tubes to the larger 650mm size and installing new electronics. The fuel and torpedo tube mods appear to have something to do with stationing  the subs off the coast of Iran

Larger fuel capacity extends range to over 10,000 kilometers and endurance to about 50 days.

Man, they gotta get an atom burner.

I'm not quite sure why they haven't, I'm sure they have their reasons, but it is not as though they do not have the expertise.  Right now they are benefiting from their German arrangement.  That isn't to say at some point they decide to retrofit.

That German arrangement is interesting.  It would have worn thin by now if there were
not some form of reciprocity.  Maybe the US is not Israel's only western friend?

Or perhaps Germany is a more reliable friend than we, at present...as long as Stymie is mucking things up.

But Israel will do as she must, and that is as it should be.
