Yes, the new currency of the poor is  Tide laundry detergent (http://www.thedaily.com/page/2012/03/12/031212-news-tide-theft-1-4/)

Hey can I buy a lid?  Sure, that will be 3 bottles of tide.

I don't have them. How about $100?

One would almost think that was an Onion piece.  Is Tide the most expensive detergent out there?  I don't get it.

Well, actually, I do.  When I go shopping.  It's the most effective detergent, imo.
