The government statement indicates that YPF Gas "plays an essential role in Argentina's hydrocarbon policy."

The way things are going I could see more of this activity going on, tiff's like this ensure it, and shooting wars have begun over less.

Guess no American companies were down there. Shades of Venezuela. Vuvuzela Argentina!
Before WWII they were bigtime competitors of the USA, up and coming they were.
Guess those National Socialists showed them a better way.

It also sounds like they might make a play for the Falklands again. They are wagering -- quite possibly correctly -- that Britain no longer has the ability to project enough force that far away, and that Obama having already tossed Britain under the bus on the whole issue would do nothing to stop it either.
