On the third approach to Bush the X-47B aircraft self detected a navigation computer anomaly that required the air vehicle to transit to the assigned shore based divert landing site, Wallops Island Air Field. The X-47B navigated to and landed without incident.
Was that an intended test, or was the drone F'd up by repeated catapults and arrested landings?

No, I'm thinking the UAV is so reliant upon accurate inputs that the third attempt was aborted...they don't want a zillion dollar program being risked. Not sure if mass/velocity/stress variables for this sucker...possible something was jarred, but more likely on recovery not launch, recoveries being more kinetic. Catching the # 3 wire is nothing to brag about either...prime target is # 2.

You know, it's as if they are consciously looking to every dystopian sci-fi movie as inspiration rather than cautionary tales. "Hey! Let's make these autonomous machines and give them the ability to kill humans!"
There is now no greater threat to human existence than the US government.

Me either. Prime hacking opportunity, imo.

Yes, there have already been indications that drones have been hacked into, let arm-up a big sucker and risk having it used against us...and I do mean us!
It's like in Red, "Do you know what's wrong with this country?" "They're trying to kill is?" "Exactly!" ::outrage::

Love that movie. Malkovich plays a pretty good lunatic.
