At 50% on the food stamp dollar, that $18 worth of crack.

Interesting article - be sure and watch the video.
Gary DeMar pointed out two days ago that the food stamp shut down that occurred over the weekend is a sign of bad things to come. When I read it, I agreed with him. But I didn’t think he was talking about what might happen in a little over two weeks. A Utah food pantry obtained a letter that purports to be from the USDA. The local Fox13 news station is treating the letter as a serious story:
The letter says that, “in the interest of preserving maximum flexibility, we are directing states to hold their November issuance files and delay transmission to state electronic benefit transfer vendors until further notice.”

Maddy, I'm going to merge this with an existing thread on the same subject. Hope you don't mind.

Frankly, I'm surprised that the riots haven't happened yet. I'll put my tinfoil hat on here and say that the Xerox fail in LA was only a test. The day that that happened I told the husband that we need to get off our butts and really buckle down for a weekend and just tighten things up as far as a plan for if/when SHTF.
Compared to most folks I feel that we are already pretty well prepared as far as food, ammo and supplies go, but there is definitely need for improvement. Always will be.
For instance, I think we all know that there's a good chance for SHTF at any time with this POTUS. If they don't create an "event" they will certainly exploit any "event" that happens by chance (weather, system breakdowns, etc...) IMO they want nothing more than to see riots (who cares who/what causes them - they just need societal breakdown) and chaos in order to further implement the police state.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that it will come as no surprise to me if we wake up one day and a minor event causes groceries to shoot through the roof overnight - or a major event causes the shelves to go bare at the grocery store or WalMart. Whatever the case, I'll be damned if I'm going to be forced to pay $20.00 for a pound of hamburger or bacon - not gonna happen. We're already prepared enough to where we won't have to worry about going hungry at all (or any member of our families), but I will say that I've been feeling the need for some time to get even more prepared than I am. Always room for improvement, IMO.
Will SHTF in November? Very possible of course - anything's possible. It wouldn't surprise me at all if this Admin created an event as a test run - or to take the spotlight off of the disaster of Obamacare. Not whatsoever.

1181 days until the inauguration.

There's also supposedly going to be an partial shutdown of the power grid as a drill in November.

Yep, I heard about that. I'm off to Costco now to do some stocking up. Been putting it off for awhile but it's a nice day and I'll be glad I did it.

I guess I get to have my own readiness drill.
