Title: Lifehacks from 100 years ago…
Post by: Maddy on October 29, 2013, 09:57:04 AM
Some really neat tips here - below is an example but I also really find the egg one interesting as well (http://themetapicture.com/lifehacks-from-100-years-ago/). Might try it sometime just to see if it works. Enjoy!

I thought this was pretty good. Predicated on a chain saw, probably, but saves a lot of wood compared to your average camp or cook fire.

The only problem I see is how many btu's do you get burning this way compared to old fashioned burning? Normally you could burn 1/4 or 1/2 a log at the same time and get the same effect, but you'd have to load it more often. But isn't the point to sit in front of a roaring fire while enjoying your brandy and a good book?

He calls it a Swedish torch, implying its for light-- not heat.
