So you think the American Military won't turn it's guns on the population?

Think again.

It's strange we don't ever see or hear about this.  ::)

This must be making the rounds. I got an email from a friend today with the video. I'm not sure, but I think this has been discussed here at IAF in the past.

Yeah. War Hero Gen. Douglas MacArthur gladly took on the task of closing down the Vet's shanty town. (But he was so young when he was tasked with the clearing of the protestors.)

I knew that, but I like Patton much more than Eisenhower, at least evolved into a true military leader rather than that bureaucrat Eisenhower and I doubt if he would have followed that order later in his life.

MacArthur had more in common with Patton than Eisenhower, but I believe all admired Pershing and served under him at least once.

The really sh*tty thing is the Army had no business whatsoever being there, it was a civilian matter. MacArthur really fukced up on that one.

Washington has his blemish too, the Whiskey Rebellion, he should have taken a pass on that exercise.   ::facepalm::

Two hundred years later,  we still have moonshiners running around due to the stupidity of the federal government of that time.   I have never figured out why that should STILL be illegal after all this time.    Its now a two century old mistake,  that hasn't changed at all.   What a waste of tax dollars and law enforcement.

I guess we wouldn't have had NASCAR either had the government had not been so insistent on collecting tax money from people who had no cash.

It's still illegal because booze-tax is a cash cow.
