Title: Remember truth to power in journalism?
Post by: ToddF on November 21, 2013, 12:45:05 PM
From the hometown rag, about a paper I was actually published in, once upon a time...

Was it all the news that was fit to print? Someone doesn't think so (http://muscatinejournal.com/news/local/education/mcc-paper-ruffles-some-feathers/article_d97bc266-08a1-58d7-b273-fdbaa94de04f.html)

Kind of confusing read, so I'll summarize.  A time honored practice of journalists used to be speaking truth to power.  What's more truth to power than what appears to be a little cronyism in Student of the Month awards?  Well, little journolister in training, when that truth runs into the true power on campus, the bubble head in the diversity office named LaTrina LaDrano LaDrina, ya, that's the ticket...

The kicker is that the probable complainer is an Arab Democrat candidate for the Iowa House. The only question remaining is whether Spencer Ludman learns a valuable life lesson in this, or will he just get back down on his knees, and serve Democrat garbage in the future.

Put a Jackson down on the latter, I'm good for it.   ;)
