I have a question. If one googles "origin common core" a wiki page comes up explaining that:
The initiative is sponsored by the National Governors Association (NGA) and the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) and seeks to establish consistent education standards across the states as well as ensure that students graduating from high school are prepared to enter two or four year college programs or enter the workforce.
Now, a link to the CCSSO brings you to about exactly what you'd expect: a "non-profit/non-partisan" (read: Leftist) organization of state DOE heads.
But the NGA is a known organization, populated by a lot of conservative Republican governors.
Why in the hell are they standing for this?
