Well, I am not crazy about Trump, but if he helps end this stupidity that has become presidential elections, it will be worth it. The two party system needs to be blown up. If the cost of ending the Democrat party is the end of the Republican party, then so be it.
There was no way a President Cruz was going to be able to do that (a President Cruz would have been much like President Bush 2 and you know how that went), and of course a President Bernie or Hillary want the current nonsense. The current system has to end or the nation is done. To be honest, its probably already too late.
I think its possible Trump will win big. The problem is, its also possible he will also lose big. There will not be a middle ground this time around, it won't be close. Trump will need to win a number of blue states to reduce the built in advantage for Democrats. It could be possible as he does appear to get support from those who otherwise wouldn't vote for a Republican.
Trump's greatest gift may be that the usual media attacks don't work (yet). Those wear down all Republican candidates. It seems to bring Trump energy.
And he likely will be running against a equally disliked Clinton.
The Democrats may be weakened by a contested convention, something that most had predicted for the Republicans. Bernie supporters will find out that Hillary is the party pick to matter how the vote went. They are now the wild card. What will they do when they find out Bernie is out? Will they contest at the convention, stay home on election day, or do the usual fall into line and vote for Hillary? The Bernie bots seem far less likely to fall into line unlike the Democrat norm.
I think Bernie may actually be harder to beat in the general election if somehow he bumps off Hillary. If Barry managed to bump her off, its still possible that Bernie could too.
I am going to vote for Trump.
We all know what we get with Bernie and Hillary. We may get nothing with Trump too, but you never know, we could get something. We know we get zip with the Democrats, so its worth the risk. At minimum, the economy will finally show some signs of life.
