When I was in charge of the janitors of a college,  I had to ban gum in all the classroom buildings and labs, we were wasting so much time removing gum from under chairs and tables.  Few things more gross then used gum.....

Gum is nasty.  You need a high psi power-washer to get it off sidewalks and such.  People are just lazy, stupid and inconsiderate.  And then there is Obama....
