Actually this is probably proof that the second tier of traders, not in the know and not in the inner circle in Washington found they were getting milked - just as bad as their retail customers. This is just further proof that the retail market is dying and these brokers are trying to keep it alive by avoiding the thing that is killing it.
Yes, but a second-tier clearinghouse is not going to make retail customers feel any safer nor is it going to stop the first-tier from their shenannigans. What this should do is announce to the non-first-tier player to GTFO of these bogus markets once and for all, because I agree with you, this is a death rattle. But because so much is tied up into retirement accounts, the rattle wiill rattle more than just a bit too long...and by the time too late hits these people will have been completely wiped out and destitute.
