I wasn't quite sure what category to post this in, because it's not truly about gaming so much as it's about the broader culture war that has raged since at least the 1960s.  The article makes a multitude of excellent points, particularly with regard to who the enemy is (the Left; the Cultural Marxists) and how some of us from the Right are finally learning how to properly combat them.

Our modern cultural wasteland is the result of a painful and difficult truth to hear from a lot of readers, especially those of a more politically and philosophically conservative stripe (like me):

We have spent the last forty years LOSING the war to preserve our culture.

We have seen the most important and fundamental values of our society torn down and destroyed by vandals who used the tactics of cultural Marxism to subvert our society. We have seen abominations like gay “marriage”, no-fault divorce (read: his-fault), government-subsidised abortion and freely available birth control, and universal suffrage become “acceptable”—as if these cultural freak shows could ever possibly be considered “normal”. We have seen our most fundamental rights of conscience, association, freedom of thought, free exercise of religious belief, and freedom of action circumscribed, shrunk, and destroyed before our eyes. And we let it happen.

The self-aware man who looks at how this happened will come away with a certain cold appreciation for the tactics of those who imposed this ashen, burning Hell upon us.

When it comes to gaming, we have repeatedly seen how SJW tactics work. They have used the fundamental decency of the average Western gaming consumer against him, by browbeating him into believing that he is sexist if he wants “believable” (i.e. non-ridiculous) women in games, or that he is “racist” if he doesn’t want games to become some sort of absurd paean to multiculturalism, or that he is a misinformed idiot if he thinks that women can’t be just as strong and effective in an FPS game as men.

They are exquisitely good at shutting down dissent. They’ve had forty years to entrench themselves and become institutionalised. And they have succeeded. They did this by capturing the single most important and powerful level of war.

I saw that article, perhaps there is some hope for the future, but time is running out and many ticking time bombs marking down to their all too approaching ends.  It is why movements to encourage nullification and secession are necessary to claim the moral high ground, as our Founders did.

A number of previous Supanova supporters have informed Kotaku they would no longer be attending the event, with most individuals asking not to be named because of their fear of online harassment, from either supporters of {Adam - P.} Baldwin or Gamergate. One refused to speak publicly for fear their family would be targeted.

Apparently, Adam Baldwin is a scoffer of SJWs and their tactics, so his presence -- and that of his "followers" -- is 'creating an atmosphere of fear and sexual intimidation and a hostile environment'.  I read a bunch of the comments; those people are batsh*te insane.

Again, it's not on you. It's like when your teacher used to say "If you're playing and your friend says 'it's hurting,' then stop. It doesn't matter how much fun you think you're having, stop." It's the same thing. If people feel threatened because of his presence, who are we to say otherwise? For the record, Adam Baldwin should be free to say what he wants, but sponsors are also free to take their business elsewhere if they disagree with his terrible worldviews.

        Cheers for making light of real persons' concerns. It's cosplayers we're talking about, people who already attract creepy oglers and perverts. If they feel that Adam Baldwin's presence will attract a type of person who makes them feel threatened, to the convention, is that so implausible?

It's more proof that in all wars the rules of engagement are set by the aggressor. The Culture Wars are no exception. The current rule in the Culture Wars is that if one asserts that they are offended or "threatened," then that should overrule others' rights to do or say whatever is allegedly threatening and offensive.

You see this rule of engagement crop up in multiple ways. It can be the system of Political Correctness that preemptively denies free expression, or the recent thing with athletes being suspended from their leagues based on the mere accusation of a woman -- before a single thing has been determined in court.
