I caught a few minutes of Mark Levin's show yesterday and he echoed my sentiments. For one, why is the President of the United States appearing on podcasts? That's part of what bothers me about this rapidly degenerating civilization, this elevation of pop culture -- or more accurately the stooping down of the nobler parts of culture.
That's not just me trying to sound like I have some sort of high brow disdain for all things pop culture, I just think some parts of a culture should have a dignity that stands outside of the ephemera of this or that time period. I get the same feeling when I see church services treated like rock concerts.
But I know that ship has long since sailed. We live in the time of Presidents who "Slow Jam the News" and appear on spoof interview program "Between Two Ferns."
