I have said it before and will say it again. Micky D's and BK aren't going to be paying $15. They will automate the whole operation. They are heading down that road already. The tech is basically almost ready. Stuff like this will only make it happen faster.
Within a decade most fast food restaurants will be completely automated and unmanned. Causal sit down places will be mostly automated too. In the not to distant future, the only people working in restaurants will be very expensive fine dining.
At least machines won't hock loogies into my food...right?
At least not on purpose ha ha! Probably will be some mechanical ones, I imagine,, if the tech has to be pushed out faster then its ready.
Even if they didn't have this wage nonsense going on, I can't see why any quick serve restaurant wouldn't automate. You can go to 24/7 operation, no labor problems, in fact an owner could likely run a chain of restaurants without a single direct employee. I bet there will be lots of drive thru only places smaller then a shipping container. There are fully automated drive thru convenience stores already. Build a pad and parking lot, and for about 800k they deliver an automatic store thats smaller then a one car garage but holds about the same amount of stuff as a 3000 sq ft store.
