Netanyahu Address
« on: May 24, 2011, 12:29:06 PM »
The Pali's will never agree to Israel's right to exist as long as Hamas and that ilk dominate it, and even if they pledged it their pledge wouldn't be worth a bucket of spit.  The Pali's are making it easy for Israel to stand firm and running to the UN won't impress Israel in the least.  If Obama doesn't veto Pali-friendly crap at the UN he will have no hope of retaining much of the Jewish vote.  If this condition holds that's one thing, but Obama gets another 4 years...Obama would not need any voters anymore...and that (not just for this issue!) scares the crap outta me, and it outta scare the crap outta everyone!!!

I watched the whole speech from beginning to end. Would that our nation was led by a man of such steadfast character.

One takeaway among many - Obama's position (pro-Islamic/Arab, anti-Semitic/Israeli) is not (at least publicly) shared by the congressional representation of his party. They loved Netanyahu, and demonstrated it quite vigorously in ways that (at least publicly) send Obama a signal. He's swingin' in the breeze on this.
"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

- Thomas Jefferson

IDP: "He's swingin' in the breeze on this."

Let's hope so. As much as I find it distasteful to agree w/ Reid on anything, he seemed to indicate a less than favorable review of o's proposal.
Granted his position is for political expedience only, but any defeat on o's part is good.

Unfortunately my power was out from 8:30 PM Mon. to 4:30 PM Tues. so I missed both the AIPAC speech and the speech before Congress . I've seen snippets of both since and hope to see the full versions maybe this weekend on C-SPAN .

What irritates me the most is the way Stymie nearly ruined the Netanyahu visit ( which had been planned well in advance ) by his stupid and ill-advised address last Thursday . What should have been a coming together , showing U.S. / Israeli solidarity to Hamas / Fatah , turned into an awkward , grudging "make nice" fest before a quick "Get the hell out of Dodge" for a pint of Guiness and a sleep-over at Buckingham Palace .

This dumb bastard's ineptitude will be the ruination of us all , not just Israel .

"Obama" in Swahili must translate into "ruination"!
