At first I thought the plea was lenient because the usual DeepState shot-callers just wanted it to go away (given who the "foreign" interest the couple sought out may have been) as perhaps it was one of their usual cut-out intention leak kind of thing...but then the curious decision by the judge who by all appearances should be playing ball threw a curve...
