Fox News reported Tuesday that Secret Service Acting Director Ronald Rowe has asked Michael Plati, the assistant director of the agency’s office of protective operations, to retire from his position.

Plati may have been the one signing off on denying Donald Trump, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and others additional security resources. According to journalist Susan Crabtree, Plati’s department was the one that repeatedly denied requests for extra security assets to Trump.

Fox News said that Plati is expected to retire “in the coming days.” The news comes as Rowe is set to brief Congress on what the Secret Service has learned in the wake of the July 13 Trump assassination attempt.

Plati’s retirement also comes as Sen. Roger Marshall, R-Ka., seeks to widen the DHS Inspector General’s investigation into the Secret Service’s failures at the Trump rally. Marshall wants DHG IG Joseph Cuffari to identify the specific individuals responsible for making decisions in Trump’s security planning—which may include Plati.

But if Plati indeed retires, the DHS-IG won’t be able to legally compel him for an interview.

The Secret Service has yet to comment on Plati’s rumored retirement.

Chairman Kelly received all the requested information from the September 3 letter request but, what’s interesting is that the Task Force did not request the alleged shooter’s medical records, including mental health records. Instead, Chairman Kelly is quoted as explaining that the autopsy is of little use because “I don’t know that it’s revealing in any sort of way, because you’re not going to find out much about his past, or what was his thinking the day he did all that…” Ya think? The Task Force must ask for the medical records to get information.

It is of interest that Chairman Kelly seems more concerned with Crooks family’s feelings than getting this information to the public when he said “it’s really important” to remember the Crooks family when considering the autopsy, explaining that they “lost somebody” that day too. Really?

Beyond the Chairman’s queasy feelings about autopsy details and concern for the Crooks family, AbleChild would like Chairman Kelly to immediately release the toxicology report that had to have been conducted during the autopsy. Apparently, the alleged shooter’s behavior was odd during the days leading up to the shooting. According to news accounts the alleged shooter exhibited strange behavior before the shooting “walking around the house talking to himself and flapping his arms.”

The nation is in the final stages of a Presidential election. The Task Force, a supposedly neutral investigative body, should do all it can to provide the public with information about the assassination attempt if for no other reason than to reassure that it was an isolated case and not a much more organized sinister attack. A Democratic senator accused the U.S. Department of Homeland Security of "stonewalling" requests for information about the first attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump.

Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., told reporters Monday from a Senate office building that DHS has not provided documents, witnesses nor other evidence relating to the July assassination attempt.

"I am reaching the point of total outrage, because the response from the Department of Homeland Security has been totally lacking. In fact, I think it's tantamount to stonewalling in many respects," Sen. Blumenthal said.

The Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs has been investigating any security failures that led to the assassination attempt. Sen. Blumenthal sits on that committee.

"The Department of Homeland Security has to be more forthcoming, not only to me, but to the American people, and it has to do it quickly or it will fuel the conspiracy theories that are so dangerous to our democracy, as well as undermining its own credibility," he said.

One of those conspiracy theories is that government actors orchestrated the shooting. Rep. Eli Crane, R-Ariz., said in a radio interview that he didn't "put it past some of the people in our government to do anything necessary to hold on to power," according to The New York Times.

Sen. Blumenthal said that he has expressed his frustration to DHS, adding that he would support a subpoena to obtain evidence of what actually happened.

"I'll certainly support a subpoena. It takes very little drafting to do a subpoena here and even less time," he noted. "I know how to do subpoenas. I'm ready, willing and able to use the subpoena process if necessary to get information from the Department of Homeland Security."

DHS threw a blanket over the "investigation", USSS circled the wagons and gleefully embraced the blanket of silence, demonazis fired up the hate/violence encouraging rhetoric against Trump, a second assassination attempt (more on that "how did they know his schedule" below) and a third attempt planned...more hateful/violent language directed at Trump by demonazis...

Quite simply, with the NSA database openly being exploited by officials within the IC, DHS, FBI and DOJ-NSD, there is no need for leaking. All electronic information, emails, text messages, chats, electronic communication (metadata writ large) is available to those with database access for immediate surveillance. The fourth amendment is no longer in play.

The assassination attempt that injured former President Donald Trump in Butler, PA in July, was enabled by “numerous mistakes” by the Secret Service and “specific failures and breakdowns,” an independent, bipartisan review set out Thursday.

The panel of four former senior law enforcement and government officials cautioned that another catastrophic security lapse could transpire if the U.S. Secret Service does not immediately undertake “fundamental reform.”

“The Secret Service has become bureaucratic, complacent, and static,” the panel wrote in a letter to Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, who oversees the organization, as reported by NBC News.

“The Secret Service as an agency requires fundamental reform to carry out its mission,” they added. “Without that reform, the Independent Review Panel believes another Butler can and will happen again.” The NBC News report went on to state:

The panel conducted fifty-eight multi-hour interviews of individuals from the Secret Service, federal, state, and local law enforcement and reviewed over 7,000 documents, according to its report. The Panel members and staff also traveled to Butler where it surveyed the site of the attempted assassination.

The group said they identified “deep flaws in the Secret Service, including some that appear to be systemic or cultural” including a “lack of critical thinking among Secret Service personnel” and agents’ unwillingness to “speak up” regarding potential threats.

The review made clear money was not the sole cause of the mistakes and root-and-branch reform for the entire organization must follow.

It stated the agency’s failure go beyond spending. “Even an unlimited budget would not, by itself, remediate many of the failures of July 13,” it said.
