Gun-grabbing isn’t the only item on the United Nations’ agenda that targets American liberties. One of the reasons they need us disarmed is to impose schemes like Agenda 21:

    Agenda 21 is a UN initiative that 178 governments at the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED) adopted in 1992 under the auspices of saving the environment. It bills itself as a coordinated plan of action to help nations and local government ensure “sustainability.”

Sustainability will have been attained when socialists have imposed a planned economy and redistribution of wealth on a global basis after usurping American sovereignty.

Warns American Policy Center president Tom DeWeese:

    “This is as vast, complicated issue that invades every corner of our lives. Al Gore promised us a ‘wrenching transformation’ of our society — this is it. What we are fighting is a move toward top down control — the exact opposite of the system America started with. Special interests, NGOs [nongovernmental organizations], and quasi official government groups like the American Planning Association are descending on local government and changing it through the establishment of non-elected boards, councils and regional governments. They don’t answer to the people.”

Comrade Obama, Slick Willie Clinton, and Bush 41 have signed executive orders in support of this internationalist power grab.

Given the treasonous nature our political leadership, it is left to citizens to defend America. Military mom Cheryl Pass of North Carolina spread the word at a Tea Party meeting last month:

    “Agenda 21 usurps sovereignty, property rights, economic liberty, and basically hands over power, resources and land to unelected elitists … to control the populations of every country in the world. Agenda 21 purports to address environmental issues, but calls for wealth redistribution, resource redistribution, food redistribution, energy restrictions, supposed social justice, and more. It is NOT about the environment, though it pretends to be.”

Citizen activist Donna Holt spoke up at a Virginia Campaign for Liberty event:

    “Agenda 21 is the United Nation’s blue print for the complete restructuring of nations and local communities to fit into a proper mold for global governance. It outlines, in detail, the UN’s vision for a completely managed society, dictating the process to be used for industry, agriculture, housing development, and especially education. It’s an all-encompassing plan to rule from an all-powerful central government.”

This time Soviet communism won’t fail because there will be no free world to compete with it. We’ll just get skinnier and skinnier until we waste away and there’s nothing left but Big Government and a few skeletal slaves who resort to cannibalism to survive, as in the quintessential statist society of North Korea.

Ronald Reagan said that the scariest words in the English language were “I’m from the government and I’m here to help.” Now the scariest words in any language are, “I’m from the United Nations and I’m here to save the planet.”

I am so glad the Tea Parties are finally bringing this to the forefront.  I've been aware and watching parts of Agenda 21 be implemented in various places by local governments who have no clear idea from whence the idea of "sustainability" comes nor of the Agenda.

According to international public policy consultant Wendall Cox,  while policies promoting “sustainability” are a threat to personal liberties, it is not the international conspiracy some believe it to be. Cox says the homegrown “green” phenomena is the truly dangerous threat.

Cox told TheDC it is a mistake to blame the move toward “sustainable” growth on the international community when 99 percent of local urban planners are already aggressively pushing for it.

“[The local green agenda] is not being imposed by the United Nations. That is being imposed by local elected officials who are being misled by radical environmentalists and their urban planners to do this,” said Cox. “We need to make sure we understand what we are fighting here, and we are not fighting the United Nations.”

Mr. Cox is either a fool or a liar.  Agenda 21 plans offer to send "facilitators" to localities in order to educate and train various "stakeholders" in pushing implementation through legislation.  Does he truly believe the idea of "sustainable growth" and all the other top-down planning fell from the sky willy-nilly?

Agenda 21 In One Easy Lesson

So here it is. A one page, quick description of Agenda 21 that fits on one page. I’ve also included for the back side of your hand out a list of quotes for the perpetrators of Agenda 21 that should back up my brief descriptions.

A word of caution, use this as a starter kit, but do not allow it to be your only knowledge of this very complex subject. To kill it you have to know the facts. Research, know your details; discover the NGO players in your community; identify who is victimized by the policies and recruit them to your fight; and then kill Agenda 21. That’s how it must be done. The information below is only your first step. Happy hunting.

What is Sustainable Development?

According to its authors, the objective of sustainable development is to integrate economic, social and environmental policies in order to achieve reduced consumption, social equity, and the preservation and restoration of biodiversity. Sustainablists insist that every societal decision be based on environmental impact, focusing on three components; global land use, global education, and global population control and reduction.

Social Equity (Social injustice)

Social justice is described as the right and opportunity of all people “to benefit equally from the resources afforded us by society and the environment.” Redistribution of wealth. Private property is a social injustice since not everyone can build wealth from it. National sovereignty is a social injustice. Universal health care is a social injustice. All part of Agenda 21 policy.

Economic Prosperity

Public Private Partnerships (PPP). Special dealings between government and certain, chosen corporations which get tax breaks, grants and the government’s power of
Eminent Domain to implement sustainable policy. Government-sanctioned monopolies.

Local Sustainable Development policies

Smart Growth, Wildlands Project, Resilient Cities, Regional Visioning Projects, STAR Sustainable Communities, Green jobs, Green Building Codes, “Going Green,” Alternative Energy, Local Visioning, facilitators, regional planning, historic preservation, conservation easements, development rights, sustainable farming, comprehensive planning, growth management, consensus.

President Obama’s E.O. 13575 is designed to begin taking control over almost all aspects of the lives of 16% of the American people. Why didn’t we notice it?  Weinergate.  In the middle of the Anthony Weiner scandal, as the press and most of the American people were distracted, President Obama created something called “The White House Rural Council” (WHRC).

Section One of 13575 states the following:

Section 1. Policy. Sixteen percent of the American population lives in rural counties. Strong, sustainable rural communities are essential to winning the future and ensuring American competitiveness in the years ahead. These communities supply our food, fiber, and energy, safeguard our natural resources, and are essential in the development of science and innovation. Though rural communities face numerous challenges, they also present enormous economic potential. The Federal Government has an important role to play in order to expand access to the capital necessary for economic growth, promote innovation, improve access to health care and education, and expand outdoor recreational activities on public lands.

Warning bells should have been sounding all across rural America when the phrase “sustainable rural communities” came up.  As we know from researching the UN plan for Sustainable Development known as Agenda 21, these are code words for the true fundamental transformation of America.

The third sentence also makes it quite clear that the government intends to take greater control over “food, fiber, and energy.”

The last sentence in Section 1 further clarifies the intent of the order by tying together “access to the capital necessary for economic growth, health care and education.”
