Light bulb ban repeal bill fails, 233-193
« on: July 12, 2011, 06:31:38 PM »
No link, but I heard Mark Levin talking about it.  Apparently the way Boehner brought it to the floor, it would have needed a two-thirds majority to pass.

Which party is Boehner in again?

Many days I wonder.  Today is one of them.

You'd almost have to think he didn't want it to pass.

BUT WHY??!!!!

I have no idea why, but the MF'er needs to be primaried for sheer incompetence, if nothing else.

This repeal should have been a shoe-in.  It would have enjoyed wide bipartisan support among the American people.  Only the hardcore greenies would have opposed it.

I don't think he's incompetent; it's something else.

We're told, once again, to take a bite out of their sh*t sandwich and compliment the chef on the basis that he's at least not as bad as the other guy.

How are you supposed to preserve a nation's fundamental principles under such an arrangement? This is all going to end up very ugly.

I'm starting to ask myself the same question of Boehner and the other "leadership" that I asked of Obama: is it incompetence or deliberate treachery? I very quickly, and with ample evidence, decided on the latter in the case of Obama, but with the GOP apparatchiks it still remains a question mark. It's starting to show shades of a certain considered, deliberateness though, and I begin to despair over the idea that it's already a completely rigged game.

Just as I wondered about Obama in the early months of his administration, can anyone really be this inept?

Mark Levin was discussing that on his show yesterday. It's just like the ObamaCare repeal vote, they run it through as a completely separate vote without attaching anything the Democrats want as leverage. When it fails, they dust their hands off as if they gave it their level best and, oh well, that's just how it's gonna be.

This is completely unacceptable, and to my mind only underscores the fact that Republican fecklessness is, in a way, more to blame for our heavily listing ship-of-state than Democrat radicalism.
