  • Hippies smell bad. Go away, hippie.
In a doomsday scenario, hippies will be among the first casualties. So not everything about doomsday will be bad.

I liked this one comment. It is so brazenly honest and what (to me at least) is so repulsive about the paultards:

Quote
Bill Milligan

I was at the Georgia straw poll yesterday. I appreciate the fact that you’re still in the race, because the Ron Paul booth had too many supporters and literature to fit on our allotted table. Since nobody bothered sitting at your table to support you, we kind of took your table over. If your campaign were any less delusional we’d have gotten pretty cramped.

In the end, out of about a thousand votes, you got exactly three. I like your chances for winning too, John. They’re vanishingly small.

Paultards are opportunistic carrion-eaters.

A CBS Poll snapshot of the GOP primary field in August 2007...

    * Rudy Giuliani 38% (33%)
    * Fred Thompson 18% (25%)
    * Mitt Romney 13% (8%)
    * John McCain 12% (15%)

A) Polls mean next to nothing at this stage of the game.
B) Nobody who was polling at 1% went on to become the nominee.
C) As worthless as they are, polls indicate SOMETHING. They indicate who will not be the nominee: People polling at 1%.

By the way, I just read an article at Rasmussen while I was searching for this that compared to 4 years ago, Ron Paul is polling 10X higher. Knowing how his followers operate at the grassroots, one could call that a political movement.
"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

- Thomas Jefferson
