Your doc proved that having a degree and being a doctor doesn't guarantee someone is smart either.


When I was visiting Boston once someone mentioned to me that Harvard has a reputation to protect...so rather than being delighted if students flunked out (proving it's too hard to be successful there) they do everything to make sure the students can stay there (proving they pick the best students for admission and protecting alumni donations). I also suspect their efforts to admit "non-tradtional" students has to be protected.

Get your GP to refer you to a good specialist for some malady if you like him then get him to refer you to a GP.
Being on Medicare doesn't prohibit you from changing doctors.

I had surgery a couple of years ago and to my surprise the nurse tending to me after made some comment about the economy and she was worried (perhaps she thought it was like small talk about the weather).  I said, "My husband and I are waiting for Obama to pay our mortgage."  She looked shocked at me.  I shrugged and added "The president made  a lot of promises."

I was too weak for a debate but I did want to give her something to chew over.
