Brad Thor

A few weeks back Thor made an appearance promoting his newest novel Full Black near where I live.  He talked for about 1/2 hour before taking questions along with the other author there with him.

It was the first time I'd ever seen an author show up with his own muscle.  My daughter and I got a kick out of seeing one of them talking to his sleeve.  Straight out of the movies.

My daughter and I were probably the youngest ones there.  LOL

Someone asked him if he'd ever run for office.  In a refreshing twist, rather than hedging, he said yes he was interested.  He doesn't like how things are going in this country.  He said he had more books in him so the time didn't seem right to him but if it got bad enough he'd have to get in.

I whispered to my daughter that's when I'll be really worried.  Later I wondered how bad does it have to get?

I haven't read Full Black yet but probably will get to it in the next week or two.

He's right to have security. He's not afraid to make Muslim terrorists the bad guys in his literary work, and he's also a security analyst for the government from what I understand.
"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

Hell, IDP; he's good friends with Beck.  That's enough to warrant security these days.

I just finished "American Assassin" by Vince Flynn.  Nice flashback to where Mitch Rapp got his start in the business.  Mitch likes snuffing Musslim trash...haven't heard he needs extra protection...yet.

Personally I would take the attention to mean I'm hitting the right nerve.
