I was thinking about this whole Occupy thing. They keep calling the business people "greedy." They aren't "paying their fair share." Well, they are paying a good portion of their income toward all the government freebies. The ones who are greedy and aren't paying their fair share are the ones sucking up all these government bennies. Yet many conservatives are more than willing to go along with the concept that we must have a "safety net" for people.

Whatever did we do, before we had those government "safety nets?" We had family that helped us out, and we had private charities to help us get on our feet. We did NOT have people who perpetuated our circumstances by just continuing to give and give and give to us while we took and took and took.

I'm so tired of hearing about the "greedy" rich who "don't give back." The people sucking at the government teat are the ones that take and take and take and DON'T GIVE BACK. If you don't help people to help themselves, then they WON'T! Why is this such a difficult concept for SOME people to understand?

That whole having to have a safety net burns me up as well because the assumption is it must be erected through government.  For those wishing to supply a safety net, I say go right ahead and do so.  You have no moral authority, despite averring this as a "responsibility for the richest country in the world" (nonetheless because we're not!), to insist anyone else participate.
