Voguing for Obama
« on: January 15, 2012, 04:03:11 PM »
Anna Wintour of Vogue and her fellow fashionistas are fully committed to the 2012 Obama re-election.

Quote
The 2012 Presidential campaigns are well under way, and it looks like President Obama will have the most fashionable campaign - EVER. Twenty-two designers have partnered with the Obama campaign initiative Runway to Win, for which designers will create merchandise to help raise funds for the President's 2012 Reelection Campaign.

An interesting glimpse into the so-called mind of Wintour:

"    At a Tuesday "town hall" meeting hosted by the Council of Fashion Designers of America, designers like Donna Karan and Elie Tahari lamented steep markdowns that have plagued profits since last fall, The Post's James Covert reports.

"Could someone lead a committee that would make ground rules for retailers when the discounting starts, and then all the retailers can agree to it?" Wintour asked.

When CFDA President Diane von Furstenberg pointed out, "That's illegal," Wintour said: "Is that something we can change? We have friends in the White House now."

Try not to let yet another reference to Moochelle's "keen fashion sense" put you off.

Oh, and BigFurHat strikes again:

They could kickstart their "Runway to Win" campaign with a phone call to the Palin girls. I hear they'll whore for fancy duds, and then you can have the double-plus bonus of railing on them for wearing expensive clothes, AND sniping at how trailer-park they look pouring their Wasilla trash bodies into designer labels.

Sometimes I fantasize about killing hypocrites these days.

ETA: Just in case it's unclear, I love the Palins, and I'm commenting on the hypocrisy of elitist trash and their Leftist masters.

The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

Our first round of designer Runway To Win Obama-gear has hit the streets! And just look at the time, creativity and effort that has been poured into these products by our big name designers!

And then there’s this lovely scarf (only $95), designed by Lady M fave, Thakoon Panichgul:

Although there has been some concern and discussion over whether the pattern is actually the abstract depiction of a cotton boll .... … in which case of, course, it would have to be deemed racist and pulled from the shelves. We’re having Ricky Holder’s Justice Department look into it, butt early indications are that  Thakoon will be cleared of all charges by noon today as long as he agrees not to carry  a "deadly weapon" near a polling place until 2012.”  Oh, and they want him to drop the “koon” part of his first name.

And let us not forget these useful idiots' role in making Che Guevara's murderous mug into a fashion symbol:

The whole fashion subculture is the very embodiment of what the Reds dismissed as decadent, Western bourgeoisie; yet they are total shills for Marxism.  I agree with IDP, the hypocrisy and contradiction is so offensive....particularly when you think of all the innocents who ended up in mass graves as a result of these "fashion" figures.
