Six House Democrats, led by Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio), want to set up a "Reasonable Profits Board" to control gas profits.

The Democrats, worried about higher gas prices, want to set up a board that would apply a "windfall profit tax" as high as 100 percent on the sale of oil and gas, according to their legislation. The bill provides no specific guidance for how the board would determine what constitutes a reasonable profit.

The Gas Price Spike Act, H.R. 3784, would apply a windfall tax on the sale of oil and gas that ranges from 50 percent to 100 percent on all surplus earnings exceeding "a reasonable profit." It would set up a Reasonable Profits Board made up of three presidential nominees that will serve three-year terms. All legislators should have to pass the civics test simlar to the one given to naturalized citizens. This would eliminate about 9/10 of the entire Congress. The test should be retaken every two years. Since Senators have a six year term, the minimal passing grade should be 97% while House of Reps should be 95%. Presidents should also be give a simlar test as should federal judges. Both must have a passing grade of 95 plus %. Then we'll see just how smart these assholes really are when it comes to law and government. Sheila Jackson Lee among others wouldn't make it past writing her/his name.

Aside from the arrogant, thieving, unConstitutionality of it, that's the fact that renders this proposal so egregious and so typical of the Left.

If the "huge" oil company profits are "unfair", what could possibly be the rationale for considering the government's "share" as just, other than the Left's premise that all the profits, all the money, belongs to government in the first place.  The Looters aren't even trying to hide their adherence to this ideology any longer; they have become newly emboldened.  Amazingly, however, they still bristle at the proper appellation of Fascisti applied to them.
