Yup, and all the government-mandated BS that goes with it...
Several years ago, there was something like 9 different blends sold across the country.
Uniformity of blends would lower costs.
And, IMHO, RVP is more baloney foisted on us.
For example, I live in Armstrong County, Pa. which is a rural, relatively populated area.
Because we have the good fortune of about one mile of our boundary that touches Allegheny County (Pittsburgh) we are designated as an attainment area and required to use 7.8 RVP gas which is higher.
Several of the surrounding counties aren't required to have this so they are able to sell 9.0 RVP gas which, for most of the summer driving season, is $.09-$.09/gallon cheaper.
Dealers that live near the borders get killed by the competition.
I don't want to start on ethanol.
