Because, now that we have succeeded in taking over the WH and all other areas of government and the media, why keep it a secret anymore?

Let it be noted that Professor H. Douglas Brown is no wild-eyed extremist; in fact, he’s rather bland and respectable and not the most thrilling of speakers, as you will soon hear. But that’s what made his presentation so disturbing: radical and self-admittedly “subversive” attitudes that affect the future of society are discussed with matter-of-fact nonchalance. The main drawback of Professor Brown’s verbal style (at least from my point of view) is that he often resorts to the academics’ tried-and-true escape hatch, which is to rephrase statements as questions, so as to have plausible deniability if later confronted. Thus, for example, instead of just flatly saying something like “We should indoctrinate students with leftist ideologies,” he asks “Should we indoctrinate students with leftist ideologies?” and only after five minutes of talking in circles eventually concludes “Yes.”

...the phrase “moral imperative” means “My progressive views are so over-archingly correct that it becomes my moral duty to spread them, and a crime against the world to keep them to myself.”

Brown first cites the example of a Christian teacher who of course is completely forbidden from discussing her crazy values with the students, something Brown recounts with pride — and then moments later he turns right around and discusses how “wonderful” and “beautiful” and thus reasonable and praiseworthy is his curriculum about homosexuality and abortion clinics and so forth. He’s not even trying to be unbiased here; he’s just presuming that his worldview is correct and superior, and the Christian’s worldview is “wacko,” and thus it is right and proper to banish her and instead promote his agenda.

The burgeoning number of students who register with a disability complicates evaluation: teachers are expected to accommodate invisible learning problems — their nature undisclosed due to privacy considerations — which mandate that they provide extra time on in-class tests, refrain from imposing late penalties, provide their lecture notes to students, or allow them to write exams on a word processor. The emphasis in hiring decisions on student evaluations of teachers — see, for example, the public website “Rate My Professor,” in which students’ often crass assessments are posted for all to see (“She’s hot!” “His voice puts you to sleep”) — makes it increasingly attractive to instructors to earn popularity, or at least to avoid attack, by giving high grades and making their courses fun rather than demanding. In books such as The Professors, David Horowitz has shown the dominance of Leftist activists at American colleges and “the extent to which radicalism at the very edges of the American political spectrum [has] established a central place in the curriculum of American universities.” A recent report by the California Association of Scholars laments the widespread politicization of teaching, pointing out the extraordinary imbalance of liberal to conservative scholars at California universities (29:1 in the Berkeley English Department, for example), a situation that certainly applies across North America. More proof came this weekend, as the internet is abuzz with a short video posted by MEMRI of a conference held in Tehran last February, but which only now is getting noticed. The video consists of interviews with three American professors who attended a solidarity conference arranged by the mullahs to publicize the Occupy Wall Street movement, the key event of the American left.

The professors identified in the video are Albert Vitale and John Hammond, who claim to be on the faculty of Brooklyn College of the City University of New York, and a sociologist from Fordham University’s Lincoln Center campus in New York, Heather Gautney. I was able to find Gautney on the faculty list of Fordham, but the name John Hammond does not come up at the Brooklyn College website. Vitale is a prof. of sociology and an elected member of the PSC, the AFL-CIO affiliated union that represents the faculty and is now led by a very left-wing leadership.

The participation of these three academics in an event heralded by our enemies in Tehran should teach us a few lessons. First, the tyrants in Iran welcome and support OWS, which they see as a social movement that helps their goal of weakening the United States. Two, the academics who willingly went to Tehran are playing a small part in legitimizing one of the most brutal governments that now exist, one that openly threatens to destroy Israel and then the United States. Finally, they provide living proof that although Communism for the most part is dead, useful idiots of tyrannies that do still hold power and endanger all of us still exist.

I remember reading an article a few months ago about a school somewhere in Florida that replaced all their toilets with waterless ones. Apparently the stench was so overbearing the school had to be closed. Making matters worse, the drain lines had brass fittings, and all the concentrated urine (remember there is no water to rinse it down) attacked the brass. Result, they had to rip out the pipes and replace them, at substantial cost.

I wonder if they won a Green Ribbon for that?

It has been close to 100 years now that the majority of people teaching in American colleges and universities have agreed with Woodrow Wilson, one of the founders of the Progressive movement and the first to write explicitly that the Declaration of Independence is obsolete, and that we need to liberate the Constitution from the Declaration's restraints. This liberation leads to the idea of a "living Constitution," characterized by constant change or progress. Absolute truth, to the extent that ordinary people still believe in it, obstructs change or progress—which is why President Obama refers to it, in the passage I read, as tyrannical. But if change or progress is the rule, who is to determine what version of change or progress is good? And the logical problem here—as any Hillsdale student could tell you—is that once you deny the existence of absolute truth, the definition of "good" becomes subjective and the only standard of behavior is what we want—"we," in the political sense, meaning the government or bureaucracy. It reduces politics not to right, but to force. That is why there is this bullying spirit about our government today, and why so many Americans are worried.
 
It is time for that to stop, and there are two conditions for stopping it. The first is for the ordinary folk of the United States to see in this the despotism that it is, and to rise up and repudiate it. The second thing is longer term, but equally vital: It is to replace leaders who have bad educations with leaders who have good educations. This is our work at Hillsdale College. We aim to recover the meaning of the "Laws of Nature and of Nature's God" and to place that meaning firmly in the minds and hearts of ambitious young men and women who have the courage to do something with that knowledge. Parents are responsible to the continued exixstence of these types of professors referred to above.  They send their kids to these schools and they don't care about content as long as the kid gets a degree and the school has a good sports program.

Next month, we in NC are having a ballot referendum on an Amendment to the state's Constitution defining marriage as a union between one man and one woman.  The screaming, screeching, propagandizing from the other side is deafening and, in a way, frightening.  They repudiate "Laws of Nature and of Nature's God"; they refuse the concept that marriage is specific word and concept by its very Nature.  They seem caught up in the same repudiation of the Natures of man and woman, i.e. "gender is a social construct".  They say looooove ought not be denied, but they show no looooove for the Natural concepts and goods they want destroyed.

I do not love these people, what they stand for, and want them away, where they cannot further damage the societal wreck in which we live so we who believe in the Laws of Nature and Nature's God can begin to repair what they have rent asunder.

Beck, and others, have said that those alive now are here for a reason.  Show me.

Jones College Prep, a Chicago Public Schools “selective enrollment” school, held “Social Justice Week” in March, a collection of events geared towards turning students into activists.

According to a flyer on the school’s website:

    Social Justice Week was created to promote community advancement through dialogue and community service based activism. Moreover, we hope to unify the voice of various JCP and community organizations in which to facilitate collaboration for the betterment of the community at large and promote a unified human rights advancement initiative.”

Jackson's co-presenter, Camille Williams of the Peace in the Hood movement, made several inflammatory statements about gun ownership and the National Rifle Association. She claimed the NRA is indifferent to gun violence. She also asserted she has received emails from the NRA and/or its members claiming she is "going to hell" for her advocacy and "these porch monkeys deserved to die," referring to black children killed by guns.

The NRA has millions of members; some of which whom are bound to be less-than-savory.  This woman, however, is a damn liar about receiving the kind of mail she claims are from "the NRA".

This is of course, the old 'bait & switch'. What she means to say is she got some e-mail(s) from the NRA. And she got some e-mail(s) from supposed NRA supporters which may or may not have contained messages such as she has described. But by adding the two sentences together it makes it sound like the bad e-mails originated from both the NRA and the NRA supporters.

It's lying by omission or by inference and the left excels at the despicable tactic.

I've recently started dissecting radio commercials for my kids. I'll point out where in the commercial this particular tactic is used and when the next commercial rolls around I have them point it out. It's become a game when we drive around listening to the radio. It helps them detect deceit in a real-world setting...and it's fun to boot!

Seventh grader assaulted by teacher

The alleged victim told authorities that as he was returning to his desk after sharpening his pencil, Mulholland grabbed him by the collar and said, "Come here, Jew," and dragged him 10 to 12 feet, according to the police report.

When she stopped dragging him, she pulled down on his collar and forced him under a table while making the remark about Nazis and Jews, the student told police.

Several students took cellphone videos of Mulholland before the incident occurred that police reviewed during the investigation. The incident is not captured on video, but Babkiewicz said they show Mulholland talking about an upcoming talent show, singing and falling over while attempting to sit on a desk.

Almost sounds like she was stoned while she was freaking out about Jews.

A group of six Ohio colleges in the Cleveland area are working together to help provide “new perspectives” about the Middle East and to confront “misinformation” about the region and about Islam specifically. However, the group has chosen a curious partner to represent the American Muslim community: the Muslim Brotherhood-founded and terror-supporting Hamas front group, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR).

On Tuesday, the Northeast Ohio Consortium for Middle East Studies (NOCMES) will be hosting Naif al-Mutawa at the City Club of Cleveland for a talk on “Art, Narrative and Muslim Identity.” Later that evening he will appear at Baldwin Wallace College. Al-Mutawa is the CEO of the company that has produced the first series of comic books with Muslim superheroes. The colleges sponsoring NOCMES include Oberlin College, Cleveland State University, John Carroll University, Kent State University, Baldwin-Wallace College, Case Western Reserve University, and Hathaway Brown (an all-girls K-12 private school).

So in an effort to 'confront misinformation' about Islam, Ohio educational institutions have partnered with CAIR...

...W-T-F?!  CAIR is the epitome of misinformation! Good grief!
