This bud thing is hilarious.
I cannot ponder the marketing meeting where they OKed this product ad. No focus group on their core market?

Reminds me long ago. There were city wide pulp newspapers like the reader, some even niche targeted to gays.

They had print advertising for the Marlboro Man ads, changed a little  to target gay men. Maybe a lavender hue.
He was still macho. Apparently a marketing win. There was a little fear this would spill over into their main market and harm it but it never happened.

We did stuff...

We didn't cry like babies...didn't complain much cause ya get smacked for that crap...we adapted, overcame...and had just a sh*tload of fun!

Plus we had Mom's who were good at triage, didn't sweat the small stuff.  See a doc?  Only if stitches were absolutely required or something was definitely broken...

Heck, I still use band aids augmented with duct tape to stop deep cuts...
