I watched a program about "bath salts". I think it was "Intervention" (right after Hoarders, when in season).
I had never even heard of such a thing, and it was clear that the drug counselors and intervention specialists were not up to dealing with this drug. It causes psychosis and severe hallucination. Voices, seeing people that aren't there, acute paranoia, bugs, demons, etc. Do it enough, and the psychosis is permanent. It doesn't stop when you stop taking the drug. The guy on the show still suffered from psychosis and hallucinations even after he was off the bath salts.
Based on that program, I am not surprised that this new drug is being floated as the culprit in this case.
