Gov Rick Scott (FL) to DOJ: Go pound sand!
« on: June 07, 2012, 09:04:04 PM »
LINK

Recently we were told by the various news outlets that Holder has told Florida to stop purging the voter rolls of dead people and illegal aliens or else.

Response from Gov Rick Scott's Secretary of State, Ken Detzner:

Quote
“This hardly seems like an approach earnestly designed to protect the integrity of elections and to ensure that eligible voters have their votes counted,” said the letter, written by Scott’s hand-picked secretary of state, Ken Detzner, a fellow Republican.

Quote
In tone and substance, the letter all but dares the Justice Department to sue Florida for allegedly violating the 1965 Voting Rights Act and the 1993 National Voter Registration Act (NVRA), nicknamed “motor voter.”

Quote
Meantime, Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi refused to rule out suing Homeland Security to gain access to its database for voter-registration checking. From voting to healthcare to immigration, Scott and Bondi, both Republicans, have shown few reservations in challenging the Obama administration.

To Gov Rick Scott, Pam Bondi and the rest of his crew, Thanks man! I'm glad I voted for y'all!

I remember when our former member GScott (no relation) was adamantly against Rick Scott in the FL primary. Can't remember specifically why though - seems to me it had something to do with then Candidate Scott's penchant for controversy.

Wonder if he still feels that way?

I like that answer.

It likely had to do with a company that Rick Scott purchased some years back that was embroiled in a medicare scam. The company was bilking the feds out of medicare cash. The libs were screaming about Scott stealing all that medicare cash because he owned that company.

What they didn't tell you was that he bought the company AFTER the scandal and he straightened it all out. He is/was under court order not to discuss the details of the legal proceedings however and he could not legally defend himself. Small local radio stations statewide disseminated the info and as a result of that and the Florida Tea Party, he ended up winning against Alex Sink by some 59k votes out of 5 million (if I remember the numbers accurately).

What? What about Minnesota? Did I miss something actually good about this pathetic place?

Don't feel bad, Alan.  Every State has their own ughs!  NC has a governor that believes this year's elections should be canceled.

In this case, I'm afraid prisons are a waste of tax payer money. Just shoot them for treason.

I'm actually thinking that they would eventually turn green if we just hung them from lampposts.

Besides, would save ammo.
