I love stuff like that. My question now is, is that corn ready to eat after 8 minutes in the microwave, or does that just de-husk it, and it still needs to be boiled or otherwise prepared?
My thought too.One can shuck about a bushel of corn in eight minutes. Although, watching it does make one hungry.

It does take longer in the microwave than one may think. If you cooked that much corn shucked and off the cob, it would take about 2 1/2 minutes. The only problem with microwaved corn is that it tends to cook the inside of the kernel first. Then you end up with some kernels wrinkled and dried out. I love to soak mine in water for a couple of minutes and then grill them with the husks on. I bet if I cut the base off after grilling them, it would shuck the same as microwaving.
. . . need butter . . . salt . . . pepper
My favorite corn preparation is the kernels cut off the cob, and then scrapings of the cob. Simmer this with flour and sugar, and the grease drippings from fatback. I would starve to death if I had to leave the South.
