OK, I call BS on Question 1.
1. Since 2005 America’s dependence on foreign oil has declined, from 60 percent to 49 percent. Most people agree we need to decrease our dependence on foreign oil even further. What’s the best plan to achieve this goal?
Our "dependence on foreign oil" has declined because demand for it has declined because our economy has declined. That's not a good thing.
So when the question posits that "most people agree" we need more of that, I call BS. We absolutely do NOT need less dependence on foreign oil if the reduction is the result of a dying economy.
And drilling in the US is good because it spurs economic growth, jobs, and the supply of oil on the world market. It has little to do with putting American oil into American gas tanks.
