I looked at the Constitution Party before, I like much of what they stand for, but there are some problems areas.  For instance we cannot go back to the way it was 150-200 years ago on many things.

I've never looked at the Constitutional Party so that was interesting.  But it does remind me of the conservatives my mom used to know back in the 70's when ERA, abortion, etc became the national issues.  And yes, they've never forgotten the Panama Canal.

I remember the canal issue clearly, Carter blew that big time, giving up something so strategic was insane, but, that's Jimmuh!

I can see us having to fend off the Chi-Com's to keep it open sometime in the future, no potential foe will miss an opportunity like that.  The Japanese had plans to attack it with their I-400 class sub/carriers, but it was late in the war and Yamamoto was dead and the Japanese navy but a shadow of their former self and running low on raw materials.

Interesting story though.

We are now where The Founders were when they faced despotism.

that is interesting!

I remember the canal issue as well. I was a kid that was beginning to be aware of political issues.  It's also the first lesson in "once done, never undone" I had.  I remember hearing people in our neighborhood saying they'd never forget.  But nothing came of that sentiment.
