I left for the commute to Baltimore yesterday and got about 8 mi. from house to find a traffic jam, one that's about 13 miles in length. No problem, cross over the median break and head north to next exit and try for the parallel south route which just happens to be backed up in the same manner because everyone else is trying this route as well. Call 511 on the cell to find there was a multi-vehicle pile up and the interstate is just closed. Screwed, I turned the car about and headed north again and home. Find out this morning that the whole pile up was caused by a deer and without a permit to cross the interstate. Perhaps if the authorities would have built a tunnel for the little bastards, this may not have happened. On the other hand if they would allow some of the herd to be thinned more they do, well, you get the gist. I lay blame on my mother-in law who failed to take this one out last season. After all, it was in her neighborhood as in 1/2 mile from her house.
