Beck was right when he said that we had "Progressives on both sides"
But he was dead wrong in hoping it could all be done peacefully, it can't.

Yeah, ask the survivors of the Holocaust how peaceful works.

At least she acknowledged spending. Most of these morons are convinced it's entirely a "the rich aren't being taxed enough" problem.

You know what else pisses me off about this spineless Republican leadership? They keep letting the liberals dominate the language on "revenue". Yet another word we've ceded to them. Boehner and company have conceded to the increased revenue = increased taxes fallacy. If he wants to give the president some additional revenue options, to use their words, why not take the opportunity to educate the public on the time proven Laffer curve?

This is a perfect opportunity to make the argument that lower taxes produce more revenue to the government when economic activity increases as a result. More importantly it would also expose the lie that this has anything to do with revenue. It's about taxation for its own sake, not as a revenue generating policy but as a social engineering policy. If it were simply about bringing in more dollars to the Federal government they would pursue lower tax rates because it has been shown to work countless times in the past.

Agreed.  Plus, I'd like to hear the argument why anybody thinks the Dem's have any credibility about cutting spending when a) their track record proves otherwise and b) their Obama Plan (as presented by Turbo-Timmy) includes STIMULUS?!  The fallacy of spending now equals savings later must have a stake driven through it once and for all!

Bob Corker ( RINO, Tennessee) is on board to raise taxes on the top 2%. I'll allow you to read his reasoning. ::gaah:: ::falldownshocked:: ::facepalm::

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2012/12/09/republican-corker-says-hed-support-raising-tax-rates/

Talking to some of my political buddies Sunday. Corker supporters. When I mentioned he has turned RINO and supports a tax hike for the promise of negotiating entitlements (dang, I hate that word).......He actually had some defenders. DEFENDERS!!!!! When a state such as tennessee, with a super majority within our border, has this type of leadership....we are royally screwed.

Are your political buddies in the leadership?

Corker et al. are willing to sacrifice "the rich" with yet another 2% of their property being stolen in the hopes they can get a "deal" that does what exactly?  They ought to just cut to the case and throw "the rich" into the volcano and be done with it.

I am so mightly sick and tired of hearing the antipathy directed at "the rich" by the Left and now by the Republicans; it's no longer covert, it's as blatant and as unAmerican as it gets.

No, they are not in leadership positions. It's their attitude, or its always the other peoples senators and congressmen who are the problem...not mine. I told them the truth is hard to swallow at times, but OUR problem as a party IS the Bob Corkers.

We are doomed.

What we should be doing is demanding 'CUT SPENDING ONLY'!

If the Demos are not willing to CUT SPENDING, then there is nothing to talk about.

If it's any consolation, we were doomed long before this.

Not obvious to enough....I had a conversation with a few of my younger members. They were actually talking politics, which I thought...hey, this is good. Little did I know they didn't think it would be so bad if the US of A morfed into one large middle class.  ::falldownshocked:: ::doh::

And just how did they think this magic "morfing" was going to happen?

By taxing the "rich" to the point there is a middle class. Redistribution, baby, redistribution. Pay your fair share. Some actually complained about obama, but figured it could turn out well if monies were confiscated, spread around until we are all big happy middle class. ::hysterical::

I jokingly requested a meeting with thier economics teacher.

In their fantasy land if you did that, and all money was equally distributed (forget for a moment the upheaval necessary to make that happen), within a few years there would again be rich and poor, with the majority somewhere in between. What would they say then? Time for another upheaval?

My all purpose retort to all variations of this argument is "a centrally managed economy means a centrally managed population". It's no coincidence that the countries which in the past imposed centrally managed economies had populations that lived behind barbed wire with internal checkpoints.

I think it was Mark Steyn who said it -- public education in this country is guilty of mass child abuse.

And the "rich" would be the elite, the politburo, the ruling class, whatever term you prefer...the apartchuks carrying out the elite agenda would be the upper-middle, everybody else would be muck.  Then perhaps the 99% would really have a legitimate cause to bitch!

Face it, we are surrounded by enemies, fools, dupes and looters...the patient cannot be saved in its current state...it needs to be terminated and rebuilt.

Oh goody, goody......Bob Corker (aka Bob Porker in Tennessee today) will be on CNBC in a few minutes......

Speaking of CNBC, something I used to enjoy watching, has turned into a liberal love fest.....JIm Kramer can kiss my ass. The channel is no longer enjoyable. Their "Rise above" garbage is code for raise taxes.
