We are so far past and beyond the “long train of abuses and usurpations” that the Colonists and Founders experienced and which necessitated the Revolutionary War that they aren’t even visible in the rear-view mirror.

Suddenly I feel the need to blow off steam at the range  ::rockets::  but I have guests coming this afternoon.  ::beertoast::
I can't very well shoot my guests, now can I?

 ::thinking::
"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

Not worth sacrificing a few friends for this JERK.

Enjoy your afternoon.

It all depends on whether or not they voted for this jerk now doesn't it. ::rockets::

They're MY friends. Relatives who voted for him I can do nothing about. I don't have any friends who voted for him. Acquaintances, yes, but not ones that are welcome into my home.

But on second thought.... my boys bought me some Barack Hussein Obama toilet paper as part of my birthday gift, and it's just been sitting there unused (1-ply, dontchya know). Perhaps inviting some Obama-voting acquaintances to a gathering, and displaying my gift......

In the 90's when bubba was elected I still had friends on the "other side". Even some who voted for him. We could rib each other and debate politics. No more. They all got nasty when GW came along, and drank the hard-left kool-aid.

Over a period of a year (more or less) we came to loggerheads politically and soon enough broke off all communications. It isn't the first time I've seen this behavior (the first was with high school friends who drifted away after graduation) so, busy as I was trying to survive the klintoon years  ::pokeineye:: I didn't pay it too much heed.

Now with Øbozo there isn't a leftist that I can even call an acquaintance. All contact broken. No crossing the DMZ, even for humanitarian purposes. Of course this isn't healthy for a society. If we cannot work out our differences and at least tolerate each other we will soon kill each other.

Yep, that's where I see us headed.  ::oldman::

There's an intrinsic sociopathic intolerance in liberals which defies understanding .

Yep, me too.  When half of the people want limited government and free-market capitalism and the other half want totalitarian socialism, there is no possibility of compromise.

The leftists who want to "fundamentally transform" this country can kindly get the hell out.  I'm not going anywhere.

No, you can't mean that. Those peace loving libs don't know how to  ::rockets:: They just want us to all be nice and have a  ::beertoast::

Embarrassing.

Most of my "friends" who vote democrat either avoid me or lament how bad obama is.....They have given up the fight defending this idiot, but make no mistake, they now believe he is just the wrong democrat.
I'm not always engulfed in scandals, but when I am, I make sure I blame others.

of course, because when you're standing in sh$t, it's still your sh$t and instead of getting out of it, they just get different boots

If the Army and the Navy ever look on Heaven's scenes,
They will find the gates are guarded by United States Marines.

Every President in that clip, even Clinton (if not actually meaning to) took his responsibility serious...the current occupant is a complete ass, an embarrassment...a completely useless bag of crap not worthy enough to aspire to the status of practical fertilizer.
We are now where The Founders were when they faced despotism.
