We have "mainstreaming" in our school, Pan, and last year my oldest boy was bitten by a student with autism. His escort failed to stay close enough, I guess, and he got too excited. I in no way blame teh child, as there could have been no malice or ill will whatsoever. In fact, he likes my son, as much as he can recognize anyone, I believe. Even the escort, while failing at her assignment, should never have been in the position to do so, anyway! The boy has special needs and shouldn't be there.
I think it's sold as all that nicey-nice crap they typically package their BS as, but in reality it's a money issue. N obody really wants to shell out that much more money for separate accommodations.
I really don't understand how these kids can fathom any difference in their situation in different surroundings like that anyway.
