Caught about 5 minutes of Hannity on the radio yesterday with Pastor Jones as a guest. He was beating the sh*t out of Jones, saying that because Petraeus thinks burning korans endangers troops, that it shouldn't be done.
How can otherwise intelligent people attribute causation for Islamic-motivated slaughter of the infidel to the burning of a book on the other side of the globe? Can't they see the trap of dhimmitude they're falling into? To even acknowledge a correlation is accepting a fallacy that fundamentally undermines our ability to deal with the sick reality of Islam.
That's exactly the problem, the left has promoted this faulty premise, (they began with the idea that the criminal/rioter is merely reacting to "social injustice and oppression") and many of the liberal-leaning "conservatives" have allowed these wrong-headed notions to embed themselves in their psyches. It's due, as well, to the need to bend over backward to be "fair".
As far as Petraeus goes, as I recently saw him described, he is The King's man.
eta: Too, I'd forgotten about
this:
Because in Afghanistan in 2009, US Military personnel threw away, and ultimately burned, confiscated Bibles that were printed in the two most common Afghan languages amid concern they would be used to try to convert Afghans.
That was okay, though, right? Because, once again, the sensitivities of the 'slims are paramount.
