Why would Republicans keep funding a law that hurts so many people and is so unpopular?

Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) proposed a bill this week to prohibit the funding of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.

Sadly, the GOP leadership is already going wobbly on the idea.

Here is what conservative activists should pay attention to. I have obtained the complete list of current signatures to Mike Lee’s letter. Likewise, Ted Cruz has legislation that would defund Obamacare. I have a list of the sponsors of that legislation. We should keep track to see who pulls their name off Mike Lee’s letter and who pulls their name off Ted Cruz’s bill. Additionally, several Senators are either on the letter or the bill, but not both. We should pressure them to be on both.

As it stands now, here is the list that I have confirmed and we should all be vigilant against Senate GOP Leadership pressure:

I'll bet dollars to doughnuts they'll be more than a few disappointments here...and if they play the usual voting games (vote for one version and against another...the former possibly being a omnibus reconciliation bill) even more defections will occur. Useless, feckless...treasonous...this is the GOP we are accustomed to seeing.

I had his number the minute I got his response to my inquiry about the then-imminent Feinstein gun ban. He has all the worst traits of the unprincipled, finger-in-the-wind politico.

Carl Rove says its a bad idea to allow the shut down of government over this because it will give Obama a big stick to beat republicans with.

Not signing onto Lee or Cruz bills for that reason is kinda like not going to the movies cuz Peewie Herman might be there!!

That's okay, Libertas. Alan Grayson (Floridians re-elected that lunatic) and Jan Shakowksi have introduced a bill which would make it illegal for businesses to downgrade their employees to part-timers, so that'll fix things.
