That's okay, Libertas. Alan Grayson (Floridians re-elected that lunatic) and Jan Shakowksi have introduced a bill which would make it illegal for businesses to downgrade their employees to part-timers, so that'll fix things. 
Just another example of how all these things are features, not bugs. Democrats acting like they got caught flatfooted by some supposed oversight but -- don't worry! -- they're going to fix it. They're going to fix it by unleashing another coercive measure. This is why most things are a win-win for socialists, even when they supposedly screw up they get to offer a correction in the form of more and more government.
Once you start down the path of taking from some and giving to others, the whole thing becomes an unstoppable avalanche of coercion. People find workarounds and other ways to avoid this or that diktat, so they clamp down on that with more coercion. A managed economy is nothing else but a managed population.
