My son didn't get paid last cycle because of problems with funding the military. He got paid this last Friday but so far hasn't gotten the money he was shorted two weeks before that. Toonces has zero trouble dicking with the military people's lives.
In a doomsday scenario, hippies will be among the first casualties. So not everything about doomsday will be bad.

According to Duh Wun, "Everybody's gotta take a haircut".  Except him, of course, and his posse.

PuffHo is all abuzz about the impending shutdown although it's still difficult to tell if their excitement is thrilled or worried.

I think they're worried because they can't see how not to get DUH WUN out of it clean. So far the Repubs aren't getting all the blame so they have a problem and no answer yet.If the blame is evenly split between the reoubs and the WH it's a loser for them. It's just one more thing to nail him with for 2012.

Check out IBD's Ramirez cartoon:

The problems we face today are there because the people who work for a living
are outnumbered by those who vote for a living.

Shut it down. Yes.

With a few caveats.
1. All officials elected to Washington will be locked into their respective House and Senate Building until a balanced budget is passed.

2. All officials elected to Washington pay will cease immediately and will not be retroactively paid back. Lost time is lost pay.

3. All officials elected to Washington will no longer be paid more than the base "poverty" level. Ever. "For the people"

4. No more "Air Pelosi" type travel for officials elected to Washington. Coach at the very most. Bus preferred. Get back in touch with the masses.

Please feel free to add your own..........

I stole it too, sent it to my whole contact list.
"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

Yeah, we know, but the MFM has their script from Obamakov, so, once again we are at the mercy of the ignorance and stupidity of people who pay any credence at all to the MFM!

People don't much give a flying f right now if the parks, museums, hiking trails are closed, and all the other non-Constitutional spending the Feds have taken on, so Duh Wun and his thugs are going for the jugular by messing with the military.

GW would NEVER have allowed this; matter of fact, IIRC, he signed a couple of bill he otherwise might not have in order not to have the military screwed over.

I sincerely hope the majority of our service members are paying close attention and connecting the dots; they're going to have to be current in order to know where to stand when push comes to shove.

Fine. Let them worry about their Soesh-Security, school breakfast lunch and dinner, and all the other crap the Federal government has no business doing. If the people of this country are so dumb, gullible, and entitled that they shoot down this reform then let them reap what comes.

The screeching from the Dumbocrats is comical in how hyperbolic it is. Unfortunately, it has a precedent of success. I just want to go, I want out of this damn lunatic asylum. Maybe Micronesia or somewhere.

I must ask the question.

If the dept of Education, the Dept of Energy and the EPA are shut down....Would anyone notice?

Big surprise, there is no agreement.

Personally, I am good with a shutdown. I mean, it's unessential services anyway and maybe after everyone realizes that a "shutdown" isn't the end of the world they will come to the conclusion that we can do with less government in our lives.

In a doomsday scenario, hippies will be among the first casualties. So not everything about doomsday will be bad.
